Architecture that helps delivery
Turn unclear requirements, legacy constraints, and competing priorities into systems teams can actually build.
Software architect · Entrepreneur · Developer · Reykjavik
I help organizations turn complex software work into reliable, user-friendly systems and useful products. I do my best work where clear thinking, careful implementation, and dependable delivery matter.
I am a software architect, entrepreneur, developer, and independent consultant with more than 20 years of experience taking software from idea to production. My work spans architecture, implementation, product development, integrations, release management, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Since 2008, I have operated through my own consultancy, STP Ráðgjöf ehf., serving clients including Nasdaq and Landsbankinn. Alongside client work, I have built and maintained real products used by people around the world.
Turn unclear requirements, legacy constraints, and competing priorities into systems teams can actually build.
Build useful software with the judgment to balance user value, maintainability, speed, and operational cost.
Connect systems, APIs, data flows, messaging workflows, back offices, and business processes cleanly.
Improve performance, testing, CI/CD, databases, configuration, observability, and production confidence.
Support teams with planning, estimates, architecture reviews, mentoring, release practices, and stakeholder clarity.
Help teams use AI where it genuinely improves delivery, code quality, documentation, and learning.
Operated an independent consultancy delivering architecture, software development, integrations, technical leadership, and long-term client engagements. Clients have included Nasdaq, Landsbankinn, and smaller clients.
Led design and development of Nordic Fund Market, an international fund market, covering implementation, release management, secure integrations with many external parties, operational stability, and long-term technical direction.
Developed a SWIFT-based settlement integration connected to the bank's back-office system.
Built a strong base in trading, corporate actions, payments, access control, banking integrations, and core .NET system design before moving into independent consulting.
Designed and developed TimeSnapper, a long-running productivity software product used internationally. The work reflects persistence, attention to detail, practical product development, packaging, support, and software that has to work globally in different environments.
Created and maintained fastinn.is, an Icelandic web product, from 2015 until selling it in 2024. The work covered product ownership, development, operations, maintenance, and the long-term reliability of a popular public-facing web system.
Translate messy requirements into architecture, implementation plans, and working software.
Bring credibility from high-reliability, security-sensitive systems without being limited to one domain.
Understand both consulting delivery and product ownership because I have lived on both sides.
Help teams adopt current tools, including AI, in ways that improve the work instead of adding theatre.
Let's talk
I am open to software development, architecture, product development, and technical consulting work with teams that value clear communication and want to build useful, maintainable systems.
